Simon McGuire

Simon McGuire is a commercial real estate specialist with Ray White Commercial Canberra, focused on large format development and projects across the ACT and surrounding region. He works closely with developers and national retailers, including Coles and Metcash, to deliver outcomes across site acquisition, sales leasing and project positioning for large format retail and mixed-use developments.

Simon's path into commercial real estate is anything but conventional. He began his career as a qualified fitter and turner, a trade background that gave him an early grounding in precision, problem-solving and hands-on project delivery — skills that continue to shape how he approaches complex commercial transactions today.

Simon spent 28 years with Independent Property Group in Canberra, starting out in sales before quickly progressing to principal. He then moved into the corporate side of the business with Dexar, where he served as Head of Training across the Independent, Peter Blackshaw and Laing+Simmons franchise network — a role that saw him shape the skills and standards of hundreds agents across multiple brands.

With his business partners, he went on to found and build Sentia Real Estate, a Canberra-based agency, before selling the business and its rent roll in 2026. That progression — from salesperson to principal, to corporate trainer, to agency owner — gave Simon a rare, ground-up understanding of the real estate business at every level, from the deal itself through to the operational and cultural realities of running a successful practice.

Now practising with Ray White Commercial Canberra, Simon brings that depth of experience, together with his trade-honed practicality, to large format development and projects — helping developers and major retail groups navigate site selection, leasing strategy and project execution in a fast-growing region.

Based in Canberra, Simon is known for his direct, no-nonsense approach and his ability to translate the technical and commercial complexities of large format projects into clear outcomes for his clients.
